What's a POB?

I understand how overwhelming the world of K-pop can be sometimes. Especially when you’re new. Comeback, Bias, Maknae, Aegyo…these terms can be a little confusing. But don’t worry! Going forward, I’ll be making blog posts explaining some of the terms and expressions found in k-pop that you might be struggling to understand.

Today we’re looking at POBs. What are POBs? Where can you get them? What’s the deal?

What is a POB?

POB stands for Pre-order Benefit. This is a separate gift or item included in your order if you’ve purchased within the pre-order period. The pre-order period is the time from the announcement of a product to the official release date in Korea.

What can I receive as a POB?

Pre-order benefits can really be anything but are usually photocards. These are exclusive unreleased photocards from official suppliers or the k-pop music company themselves.

Other POBs can include anything from keyrings and stickers to posters and magnets.

Where do I get pre-order benefits from?

From Reepop! Most of our pre-order products include an official POB - that’s a special gift that is exclusive to that product and is only available if you order from us before it's release date.

The amount of photocards/gifts you receive is usually on a product to product basis, but you can read our product descriptions where we explain in detail what you can expect to receive.

Now, sometimes things may be a little more vague about what the item is exactly. This is only when a supplier/company is being vague themselves. Sadly we don’t know any more than what the company tells us!

Can I get POB’s after the release date?

Sadly, if you order after the release date, your order will not include a pre-order benefit. They also won’t be restocked by suppliers.

Why should I pre-order with Reepop?

Because it makes us so happy!

But also because we want you to get the best deals possible. For years, k-pop fans in Ireland and Europe have suffered with either a lack of variety of k-pop merch, or we’ve been continuously overcharged.

As a small business, there is only so much we can do to lower prices for customers. But we work hard every single day and strive to get it as cheap as possible. The more support Reepop gets, the lower the costs of import. It’s really that simple!

If you’re looking for POBs from your fave music stores (the likes of HMV, Golden Discs, etc), you won’t find them. If you choose other European K-pop stores, it’s likely you'll be CHARGED EXTRA for your pre-order benefits.

At Reepop, we will NEVER charge extra for a pre-order product that includes a POB. It’s all included and it always will be.
